what's a rayrard?
rayrard is the ship between gerard way and ray toro of my chemical romance.
i must stress my enjoyment of this ship is in no way ironic. too many people pussy put when it comes to rpf theire is nothing ironic here i GENUINELY ship rayrard. this is not some silly joke to me.
i think their dynamic, the way they talk about each other and just the way they interact is so special. they're literally soulbonded in my mind it's craxy they are literally my parents. oh my god thinking of them makes me so sick theyre so fucking lovey dovey. theyre an old married couple in my mind.
the ship goes back to before the band was even a thing when gerard saw ray playing drums in the short lived band 'dead go west'.
gerard is quoted talking about the performance in the book "not the life it seems: the true lives of my chemical romace" saying "he's so talented. he was the best guitar player in jersey yet he was playing drums because he wanted to play. that says a lot about him." they often talk very highly of ray and his skills and i think that's very cute.
ray has a tattoo.... rays got a stage left tattoo.... because that's where he stands relative to gerard on stage..... and theyve been friends for so long that it's faded..... im gonna be fucking sick please do not talk to me i am not even relatively okay (haha that's a funny thing we'll come back to later).

why i love rayrard
i'd never been really into mcr, let alone mcr rpf (mainly because the main ship is frerard and i have no tastes for that sort of thing.
but then. i saw a clip. the clip actually!!! it was them kissing and seeing the way that ray held gerard's head? the way you could tell it was gerards idea but ray was fully on board like this is just a thing they do regularly IM FUCKING SICK!!! oh i was a fucking goner. i've died and gone to rpf heaven and i DO NOT WANT TO COME BACK
it's like ive stated before they're very old married couple vibes theyre so wholesome it genuinely makes me sick to think of them too long.

illiray honestly could get it's own shrine but like it's technically still rayrard so... here...
so for a bit of context. inokverse is sort of an... au? it's like... partially fanmade based on the "im not okay (i promise)" music video. recently we got a 4k version and in it you could see that two of the props said "illi" one of them being a paper that gerard holds. so OBVIOUSLY that means that illi mcmillin is a seperate character from gerard and the whole music video takes place in a seperate universe and the members of mcr are playing characters right? so what does this have to do with lesbians?
well when the name got revealed, despite it just being the prop guy's name, people took it to be gerards character's name. illi IS technically a name, but it's usually a girls name. so everyone has just sort of agreed that illi is a girl.
now ray also being a girl...bit harder to justify... me calling illiray lesbians really stems from nothing but projection. i thouroughly believe that ray sol (the inok version of ray toro, keep up) is apart of the girls who use he/him pronouns club (of which i am the president.) so yes he is very butch to me thank you berry munch.
